Smart Completion for ABAP

Type a few letters and the plugin offers ABAP keywords, closing statements such as ENDCLASS and ENDMETHOD, and statements such as APPEND and CALL FUNCTION. The popup shows what each entry does. There are 200+ ABAP keywords and 25 postfix templates, such as .if, .loop, .try and .data.

CDS Annotations and Views

Complete CDS annotations such as @AbapCatalog, @AccessControl, @UI, @ObjectModel, @Semantics and @Analytics. The popup lists every matching annotation with a short description. CDS views and entities get their own editor support and color scheme.

RAP Behavior Definitions

Write RAP behavior definitions with completion for actions, validations and determinations. The editor understands abstract behaviors, fields with readonly flags, and the create, update and delete operations.

Structure View and Navigation

The structure view lists classes, methods, forms, interfaces and data of the open file. Use rename (Shift+F6), find usages (Alt+F7) and go to declaration (Ctrl+B) for variables, constants, field symbols and inline declarations. Extract Method (Ctrl+Alt+M) moves code into a new private method or FORM.

Debug Inside the IDE

On ADT systems (7.40 and newer) you can set breakpoints, step through code and inspect variables without leaving the IDE. On SAP BTP Cloud you log in with your browser. Older systems connect over RFC.
