In short
Espresso Shot Reader films your espresso shot from below and reads the video on your phone. This policy covers the app for iPhone and the app for Android. Your videos, readings and notes stay on your phone. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. We cannot see your shots or anything you do in the app.
What the app stores, and where

Nothing of this is sent to us. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Camera and microphone
- Camera: the app films the shot. The video is saved only on your phone.
- Microphone: the app measures the sound level to hear when the pump starts, so the shot timer starts at the right moment. It does not record, keep or send audio.
You can deny either permission in the system settings. Without the camera the app cannot film a shot; without the microphone you start the timer with a tap.
Your free first shot
The first analysis is free. To remember that it was used, even after a reinstall, the app stores one flag:
- iPhone: in your own iCloud Keychain.
- Android: in your Google account backup through Google’s Block Store, and in the app’s storage.
The flag says only “free shot used”. It contains no personal data, and we cannot read it.
Purchases
The €9.99 unlock is a one-time in-app purchase. Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) process the payment under their own terms. We receive no payment details or personal data from them. The app asks the store only whether the unlock was bought.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-in
- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs
- No advertising and no advertising ID
- No sharing or selling of data — there is no data on our side to share
Children
The app is made for adults who make espresso. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
