The German Society for Radiation Oncology e. V. (abbreviated DEGRO) is the scientific society for doctors working in radiooncology, medical physicists and radiation biologists. With around 2,000 active members, DEGRO sees itself as an umbrella organization for all areas of radio-oncology, including scientific basic research. In doing so, DEGRO is committed to quality-assured implementation of scientific findings and intensive promotion of young talent, and with its “DEGRO Academy” it offers a practice-oriented curriculum for the further education and training of radio-oncologists. The annual congress with more than 2,800 participants is one of the most important events of radiotherapy symposia.
